Fish & Chips!

The acclaimed actress Catherine Zeta-Jones recently shared insights into her London visits and observations on the evolving global landscape. When in the British capital, a traditional indulgence remains a constant: fish and chips. “Always” she stated in an interview with “Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung”. She also enjoys a luxurious afternoon tea, frequently opting for the Ritz or Corinthia Hotel, complete with scones, jam and clotted cream, despite acknowledging a gluten intolerance. “But it’s worth it” she added.

Beyond her culinary preferences, Zeta-Jones revealed that she and her husband, actor Michael Douglas, spend considerably more time in Europe than is publicly known. While she is reluctant to discuss political matters openly, preferring to keep her personal opinions private, she expressed a strong desire for improved communication. “I hope our communication gets less toxic. Because I cannot bear this toxic rhetoric any longer” she commented.

Zeta-Jones voiced concerns regarding a discernible shift in societal trends, observing a regression towards “a return to archaic tribalism” within a globally interconnected world. She suggested a need for reflection amongst world leaders, envisioning a return to core historical education. “I wish some of our world leaders would just go back to school in history class, to learn that history repeats itself. And right now, we’re developing to this point where we then say: `Oh, it’s happened again.`

The actress, who began her theatrical career in London’s West End at the age of nine, is currently captivating audiences in the new Netflix series “Wednesday” where she portrays Morticia Addams, the matriarch of the iconic Addams Family. The season premiered August 06th.
