K-Pop Hit “Golden” Tops German Charts

A track originating from an animated film has reached the summit of the official German Singles Chart for the first time. “Golden” performed by Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami as the virtual K-Pop group Huntr-x within the Netflix animated feature “KPop Demon Hunters” secured the number one position, as announced by GfK Entertainment on Friday. The remaining top three positions were claimed by Alex Warren with “Ordinary” at number two and Aymen and Sira’s “30 mal am Tag” at number three.

Turning to the album charts, a live recording from a musical icon secured the top spot. Roger Waters, founding member of Pink Floyd, reached number one with “Roger Waters: This Is Not A Drill – Live From Prague”. The soundtrack to “KPop Demon Hunters” followed closely behind in second place. Newcomer Kolja Goldstein debuted at number three with his album “Kouwe Ouwe.

The official German charts are compiled by GfK Entertainment on behalf of the German music industry association, Bundesverband Musikindustrie and represent 90 percent of all music sales within the country.
