Law enforcement agencies conducted coordinated searches across three German states on Tuesday, targeting eight individuals suspected of forming a potentially right-wing extremist armed group. The searches, involving thirteen locations in Lower Saxony, Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia, were carried out by the Celle General Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The suspects, aged between 32 and 57, are under investigation for allegedly establishing the group, believed to hold right-wing extremist views. Four of the individuals are also suspected of possessing illegal firearms and fully automatic weapons. Authorities in Lower Saxony previously confiscated a pistol and ammunition from one of the suspects in April 2024.
The searches were conducted to locate and secure weapons and to gather further information pertaining to the group’s activities. Police operations were ongoing as of Tuesday.
