Germany Raids Far-Right Group “Deutsche Jugend Voran

Law enforcement agencies in Berlin and surrounding states conducted a series of raids targeting suspected members of the far-right group “Deutsche Jugend Voran” on Tuesday morning. The operation, carried out jointly by the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office and the police, involved searches of residences in Berlin, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Approximately 90 officers participated in the coordinated actions, which focused on properties in the Berlin districts of Marzahn, Hellersdorf and Kaulsdorf and the towns of Heckelberg-Brunow, Erkner, Bernau and Neustrelitz. During the raids, authorities seized mobile phones, data storage devices and clothing believed to be linked to the incidents under investigation.

One individual, an 18-year-old man in Berlin-Marzahn, was arrested and will be brought before a judge. He is currently implicated in the assault on two journalists on the evening of August 10th near the Ostkreuz S-Bahn station, where the men, aged 23 and 25, were reportedly beaten and kicked.

Beyond the Ostkreuz incident, the suspect faces accusations related to three additional alleged attacks occurring in 2024, including instances targeting individuals identified as wearing apparel associated with the “Antifa” movement. Authorities are now analyzing the confiscated materials to identify potential additional participants in the alleged offenses.
