German music charts are seeing a dynamic shift this week, with rap collective “01099” claiming the coveted top spot on the official album charts. The announcement, made by GfK on Thursday ahead of the Friday holiday, marks the third consecutive number-one debut for the group’s latest release, “orange.
Close behind, the Ska-Punk band “Sondaschule” secures the second position with their album “Wir bleiben wach”. Veteran artist Till Lindemann makes a significant return to the charts at number three with a re-entry of “Zunge” an album originally released two years prior and now refreshed with additional tracks. Rounding out the top five are metal band Amorphis (“Borderland”) and hip-hop duo ZSK (“Feuer und Papier”).
The single charts remain dominated by “Golden” performed by Audrey Nuna, Ejae and Rei Ami. The track continues its reign, having now secured an impressive nine weeks at number one, a feat unmatched by any other single released this year. “Ordinary” by Alex Warren holds steady at number two, while “No Broke Boys” from Disco Lines and Tinashe claims the third-place position.
The official German charts are compiled by GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Federal Association of the Music Industry, representing approximately 90 percent of all music sales within Germany.
