Fuel prices have edged higher for gasoline drivers compared with last week, while diesel users currently enjoy slightly lower prices at the pump.
According to the ADAC’s latest fuel‑price assessment, a litre of Super E10 is on average €1.754 nationwide-a rise of 0.6 cent over the previous week. Diesel has fallen 0.5 cent, priced at €1.716 per litre.
The ADAC noted that Brent crude has increased by about $2 compared with last week, trading just over $69 per barrel today. The euro has gained modestly against the dollar and is now worth around $1.19, which helps to cushion the impact of higher oil costs.
The association points out that the gap between gasoline and diesel prices has widened again, albeit still far from a fair balance. Although diesel carries roughly 20 cent less excise tax per litre than gasoline, it only costs 3.8 cent less than Super E10 at present. This suggests further room for diesel prices to fall, the ADAC concluded.
