He told the “Rheinische Post” that the conference would set a decisive course toward growth, competitiveness, and firm reforms. Bilger added that the proposals on the table are strong and direction‑setting.
He reminded reporters that this meeting is the CDU’s first in a governing role in five years, so it must issue a clear signal of solidarity and resolve. Bilger said the outcome would also give momentum for the upcoming state elections in Baden‑Württemberg and Rhineland‑Palatinate.
