Tricia Tuttle Keeps Berlinale Director Post as Antisemitism Fallout Rages.

Tricia Tuttle, the U.S. festival director, will continue in her role as interim chair of the Berlinale, several media outlets report, citing a spokesperson for Culture Minister Wolfram Weimer.

On Thursday morning, the previously announced supervisory‑board meeting of the KBB GmbH was held in the chancellery. The discussion will continue over the coming days between Tuttle and the supervisory board about the future direction of the festival, Weimer said. He called the meeting to clarify the Berlinale’s trajectory.

The day before, Bild reported that Weimer might remove Tuttle. The crisis at the festival has been fueled by recent antisemitic incidents, including a controversial speech by Syrian‑Palestinian director Abdallah Alkhatib at the awards ceremony. In response to the potential dismissal, many filmmakers and Berlinale staffers rallied in support of Tuttle.
