According to the newest ZDF political barometer, the picture has hardly shifted. If the federal election had taken place this Sunday, the poll‑making team “Research Group Elections” would have found the Union in the lead at 26 percent, the AfD at 24 percent and the SPD at 15 percent – unchanged from the last survey three weeks ago.
A tiny swing is visible among the Greens and the Left Party: the Greens have dropped one point to 12 percent, while the Left Party has risen one point to 11 percent. All other smaller parties together still amount to 12 percent, unchanged as well.
An additional finding from the poll is that a strong majority-81 percent-supports a ban on social media for children and adolescents under 14. The 18‑to‑34 age group shows the highest support, at 84 percent, according to the Research Group Elections.
