In the wake of new military strikes against Iran, U.S. President Donald Trump is calling on his Western allies to increase their involvement. On Truth Social, Trump wrote that “the countries of the world that bring oil through the Strait of Hormuz must secure that passage”. He added that the United States will “help” those nations. Trump also said the United States will coordinate with them “so everything runs quickly, smoothly, and successfully”. He claimed the expedition in the Gulf should have been a joint effort from the outset, and that this will now be the case. Trump stated that the world will “reach harmony, security, and lasting peace”. Finally, he declared that the United States have “militarily, economically, and in every other respect defeated and fully weakened Iran”.
