Former Israeli defence minister Benny Gantz said that by blocking the Strait of Hormuz and letting oil prices climb, Iran is essentially trying to extort the world.
He told ZDF’s “Heute‑Journal” that attacks on Iran must continue so that Tehran learns that “no messing around is allowed”. Gantz added that “a lot has been achieved in these 16 days of the war” but stressed the importance of eliminating threats as far as possible. When asked whether Israeli ground forces might be deployed to Iran, he replied, “I would not rule anything out”.
