Enes Kanter Calls Erdogan a “New Chamenei” and Accuses Turkey of Siding With Russia and Iran amid Growing U.S. Division Concerns

Former NBA star Enes Kanter Freedom has voiced worry about the social climate in the United States. “I see the first signs in the U.S. of conditions similar to those in Turkey” he told the newspaper “Welt”. “There are two camps, and no matter which media outlet you turn to, there is always tension, argument and conflict about everything”.

Kanter warned that when people read those reports or newspapers, they automatically begin to hate the other side. “The people need to understand that we have only one America. We must come together as one to make the country better. Otherwise, China, Russia, Iran and others will take advantage” he said. “It is sad-and we must wake up before it’s too late”. He has held an American passport since 2021.

The activist also criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. “Erdogan is the Trojan horse for Putin in NATO” Kanter said. “Turkey is a NATO ally, yet Erdogan shakes hands with Russia, with Iran, supports terrorist organisations such as Hamas, issues passports to terror leaders so they can travel through Europe”. Under Erdogan, the country is becoming like a new Iran, and “Erdogan is the new Chamenei in the Middle East”. Kanter is wanted in Turkey on an arrest warrant; he is affiliated with the Gulen movement, which the Turkish government designates as a terrorist organisation.
