BTS’s newest album “Arirang” has taken the number‑one spot on Germany’s official album charts, as announced by GfK on Friday. It is the South Korean boy group’s third chart‑topping record in the country after “Map Of The Soul: 7” and “Proof”.
Second place is held by Audio 88 and Yassin with “Zeit zu sterben”. Unheilig’s “Liebe Glaube Monster” slipped from the top to third, while Kasi and Antonius occupy fourth with “Kids”.
In the singles chart, BTS dominates with eight tracks from the same album. Besides the chart‑topper “Swim” the songs “Body To Body” (19), “FYA” (37) and “Normal” (47) also appear. The group has become the first act ever to hold a number‑one album and a number‑one single simultaneously. Zara Larsson’s “Lush Life” sits in second place, and Dominic Fike’s “Babydoll” is third.
The official German charts are compiled by GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Bundesverband Musikindustrie and cover 90 percent of all music sales.
