Trump Reignites Iran Threat, Targets Energy Infrastructure If Hormuz Blockade Persists

President Donald Trump has repeated a threat to strike Iran’s energy infrastructure if the country’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz continues.

On Monday, he posted on his Truth Social feed:

> “The United States of America is holding serious talks with a new, more reasonable government to end our military operations in Iran”.
> “We have made large progress, but if an agreement is not reached soon and the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, U.S. forces will end their presence in Iran by destroying all power plants, oil facilities, the island of Kharg, and possibly all desalination plants with aerial attacks and complete elimination”.

Trump said the U.S. has not yet intentionally targeted those facilities, adding that the strikes would be retaliation for the many soldiers “who were slaughtered and killed by Iran during the 47‑year ‘terror regime’ of the former government”.
