Kimi Antonelli secured his third consecutive Formula 1 victory at the Miami Grand Prix. The Mercedes driver outperformed Lando Norris of McLaren in a thrilling race, further increasing his lead in the standings. Max Verstappen, who struggled from the start and had to enter the pits during a Safety Car phase, managed only fifth place despite a strong attempt to climb the rankings.
For McLaren, Oscar Piastri claimed the third podium spot, followed by George Russell who also drove for Mercedes. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc, who was previously in third position, dropped back to sixth place after needing to execute an unscheduled pit stop on the final lap. Lewis Hamilton managed seventh place in the Ferrari, and Franco Colapinto in the Alpine, while the two Williams drivers, Carlos Sainz and Alexander Albon, rounded out the top ten finishers.
The race was marked by several incidents, including a collision between Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly; Gasly was unharmed even though his car rolled over. Nico Hülkenberg was forced to retire his Audi during the Safety Car period. Following the race, Max Verstappen is facing potential penalties because he crossed the white line during his pit stop. Additionally, George Russell is currently under investigation regarding collisions involving both Verstappen and Leclerc.
