German Service Sector Revenue Sees Robust Monthly Growth in February 2026

According to preliminary figures from Destatis, the services sector in Germany (excluding financial and insurance services) generated higher revenues in February 2026 compared to January 2026. Specifically, revenue rose by 0.3% in real terms (price-adjusted) and 0.5% in nominal terms (not price-adjusted). Comparing February 2026 to the same month last year, the revenue showed a larger increase, climbing by 2.4% in real terms and 4.0% in nominal terms.

Looking at the month-over-month comparison, the freelance, scientific, and technical services sector recorded the largest real increase, rising by 0.9%. This was followed by the transport and storage sector, which saw a 0.4% increase. The Information and Communication sector experienced a real revenue growth of 0.3% when compared to January 2026. Furthermore, other economic services (such as renting movable goods and providing labor placements) and the real estate market both showed a minor increase of 0.2% compared to the previous month, according to the statisticians.
