Making Money and Mobility Work for Workers and Businesses

Sepp Müller, the Deputy Chairman of the CDU parliamentary group, stated that following the failure of the “relief premium” the focus must shift toward more targeted forms of support. Speaking to the news portal T-Online, Müller argued that financial relief should be allocated precisely where the need is greatest, with the goal of strengthening those sectors and groups vital to the country’s operation.

Müller specifically demanded tangible relief for commuters, suggesting possibilities such as a dedicated mobility bonus or an increased lump-sum payment for travel expenses. Furthermore, he proposed using a direct payout mechanism to ease the burden on small to middle-income earners.

He stressed that many small and medium-sized enterprises, particularly freight forwarders and coach companies, are facing growing pressure. For these businesses, Müller insisted that targeted aid is crucial to secure both jobs and overall economic stability.
