Sources report that Mercedes-Benz’s branches in Berlin are being sold to Canadian investor Kuldeep Billan, who is the head and founder of the Alpha Auto Group. According to the reporting by the newspaper “Bild” some of the company’s approximately 1,200 Berlin employees were informed by email on Monday about the sale of the sales network. The affected Berlin locations mentioned include seven specific branches: those in Spandau, Marienfelde (excluding the factory), Holzhauser Straße, Rhinstraße, the Schönefeld Airport Center, the Ludwigsfelde Paint and Body Center, and the Mercedes-Welt at Salzufer. Furthermore, the newspaper suggests that other major dealerships-in locations such as Hamburg, Munich, and the Rhineland-Ruhr area-are also slated for sale. This potential sale could impact a total of around 8,000 Mercedes employees nationwide.
