BMW Names Veteran Michael Nikolaides as New Head of Corporate Strategy

According to reporting by the “Handelsblatt” Michael Nikolaides is set to take over as the new head for the corporate strategy department at BMW. Nikolaides will report directly to Milan Nedeljkovic, who is scheduled to take the leadership role of the Dax Group beginning this Thursday. Within the company, Nikolaides is considered a close associate of the future CEO, as both men have spent many years of their BMW careers working in the production sector.

In his previous capacity, Nikolaides was responsible for the production network and logistics at BMW over the past four years. Working alongside Nedeljkovic, he also spearheaded the digitalization of the production network. Most recently, the pair jointly presented humanoid robots slated for use at the company’s Leipzig plant.

Even in his previous role, strategic matters were central to his work. Nikolaides had to consider geopolitical risks and potential supply chain bottlenecks when managing factory utilization and model distribution across the production conglomerate. Simultaneously, he maintained close collaboration with other departments, including procurement and sales.
