German Political Parties Set to Receive Increased State Funding in 2026

German political parties are set to receive significantly increased funding from the state this year. State subsidies are rising by 3.1 percent, amounting to an extra seven million euros, bringing the total subsidy pool to 232.37 million euros. This information comes from a statement by Bundestag President Julia Klöckner (CDU), which was reported by “Bild”.

According to the statement, the increase reflects the trajectory of typical party expenditures, which were determined by the Federal Statistical Office. Furthermore, the allocation of funds per vote will also be higher. Specifically, parties will receive €1.24 for the first four million votes, an increase from the previous rate of €1.21. For every vote beyond the first four million, the subsidy will rise to €1.02, up from the previous rate of 99 cents.
