German President Visits USA for World Cup Football Match and Diplomatic Engagements

Bundestag President Julia Klöckner (CDU) will be attending the third qualifying round match of the German national football team for the World Cup during her upcoming trip to the United States next week. According to reports obtained by “Bild” from Bundestag circles, Klöckner will watch the match against Ecuador at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Thursday, June 25th. This visit to the World Cup game is part of her busy schedule that day, which includes appointments at the United Nations in New York. There, Klöckner is scheduled to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock. Furthermore, “Bild” reports that the following day, Klöckner will be in Washington D.C. for political discussions with her US counterparts, including House Representative Mike Johnson, as well as other parliamentarians.
