AfD Maintains Lead in Polls: Party Holds 29% as Bundestag Election Looms

According to a poll published by “Bild am Sonntag” on Saturday, the AfD remains the strongest party by a significant margin. If a federal election were held this Sunday, the AfD would garner 29 percent of the vote, placing it well ahead of the CDU/CSU coalition, which received 22 percent.

The SPD and the Green Party are polling at 13 percent, though the Greens recorded a one-percentage-point drop compared to the previous week. The Left Party remains stable at ten percent. The BSW and FDP are projected to receive three percent each, insufficient for entry into the Bundestag. Other smaller parties accounted for seven percent (plus one).

This latest survey shows neither the governing coalition nor the opposition parties making any progress this week. The poll was conducted among 1,204 individuals between June 15 and June 19, 2026.
