The German team was initially visibly stunned, but they managed to equalize in the 68th minute. Deniz Undav capitalized on a pass from Nadiem Amiri to level the score, and Undav went on to seal the win in stoppage time. This victory marks the second time in this World Cup that a team has managed to overturn a deficit, securing for the DFB side a place in the Round of 16.
