Norway secured their second victory of the tournament by defeating Senegal 3-2 at the Football World Cup. The Scandinavians started strongly, managing to maintain their lead throughout the game despite Senegal’s efforts.
The Norwegian side took the lead early in the match. Just before halftime, in the 43rd minute, Marcus Pedersen scored, capitalizing on a turnover from Koulibaly with a precise shot into the top right corner. Erling Haaland doubled the advantage in the 48th minute. Following a midfield gain, Martin Odegaard delivered the perfect pass, allowing Haaland to strike from 13 meters out.
Senegal responded quickly, reducing the deficit in the 53rd minute when Ismaila Sarr guided the ball into the net after a pass from Mane. However, Norway swiftly regained their lead just five minutes later. In the 58th minute, Haaland pressed his advantage, finishing off a rebound inside the box with a volley.
As the match continued, Senegal increased the pressure. In stoppage time, in the third minute, Ismaila Sarr netted the go-ahead goal for Senegal, making it 3-2. Sarr received a central pass from Jackson and slotted the ball into the lower right corner.
Despite the late goal from Senegal, Norway demonstrated a cohesive team performance, ultimately earning the win through efficient goalscoring.
