CDU Chief Demands Legislative Sprint Before Summer Break to Finalize Major Reforms

CDU parliamentary leader Steffen Bilger is demanding a decisive final push from the coalition before the parliamentary summer break. Despite the hot weather, Bilger told the “Rheinische Post” that the alliance is once again entering sprint mode, aiming to advance and finalize crucial reforms.

He stated that the healthcare reform is already in the final stretch in the Bundestag. Furthermore, he noted that there are solid proposals from the commission regarding pensions that now need swift implementation. Another key item on the agenda for the coalition committee will be tax relief, particularly for small and medium incomes.

Bilger expressed confidence that the coalition will tackle several central projects. He emphasized that the alliance is moving major reforms toward completion step by step, and it can look back on the past six months with groundbreaking decisions.
