A seven-day-old infant was stolen from a hospital in Lüdenscheid, North Rhine-Westphalia, only to be found shortly thereafter in a parking garage. According to the Märkischer Kreis District Police, an unknown woman impersonated a staff member wearing a light blue coat to take the infant from the patient’s room around 3:15 PM. She then seemingly absconded with the child during the hot weather, which was near 35 degrees Celsius, prompting the clinic to call the police. About an hour later, witnesses spotted the newborn in a side room of a parking garage located roughly three kilometers away, situated near a coin-operated machine. An ambulance retrieved the boy from the discovery site and returned him to the hospital. Police cordoned off sections of the parking garage to secure evidence and are now actively searching for the individual. The suspect is estimated to be between her mid-20s and early 30s, standing between 175 and 180 cm, and is described as very slender with blonde hair, possibly tied in a braid, and wears large glasses.
