Sven Schulze, the Minister President of Saxony-Anhalt for the CDU, expressed optimism that the reduction in fuel prices will lead to sustained price stabilization once the current discount period concludes. Speaking to newspapers published by Funke-Mediengruppe, the CDU politician asserted that the price discount has “achieved its intended effect.” Contrary to the skepticism forecast by many prior to its implementation, Schulze noted that the subsidy was “almost entirely passed on.” He emphasized that this discount was critically needed by numerous groups, including commuters, logistics workers, tradespeople, and farmers. Now, his hope rests on the situation in the Middle East easing further, which he believes will cause crude oil prices to fall again.
