The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office announced on Tuesday that a Romanian national had been arrested in the Enzkreis district of Baden-Württemberg. The suspect is alleged to have attempted to establish an international terrorist organization while acting as an organizer. Furthermore, he faces charges related to preparing a serious act of violence endangering the state.
According to the investigation, Nichita P. began efforts in early 2023 to found an extreme right-wing group. This group allegedly planned to instigate a “war of terror” in Romania, with the ultimate goal of destabilizing the Romanian state and establishing a new political structure modeled after National Socialism. To recruit members, the suspect operated two channels via a messaging service from Germany, primarily targeting young Romanians.
Through these channels, he is said to have urged subscribers and members to carry out various crimes. These alleged activities include the application of right-wing graffiti symbols, arson attacks on buildings belonging to migrants or members of the LGBTQ community, and the murder of “subhumans.” Additionally, the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office reported that he published instructions on how to manufacture toxins and explosives.
The suspect is scheduled to appear before the investigating judge of the Federal Court of Justice later that day, who will decide on the execution of pre-trial detention.
