The production of non-alcoholic beer is becoming increasingly popular in Germany. According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), which reported the figures on Tuesday, 616 million liters of non-alcoholic beer were produced in 2025, valued at approximately 696 million euros. This volume represents a 6.5% increase compared to the previous year, when production stood at nearly 579 million liters.
Despite the growth in non-alcoholic options, the overall production of alcoholic beer remains significantly higher. In 2025, German breweries produced about 6.8 billion liters of alcoholic beer, worth roughly 6.4 billion euros. However, the total production of alcoholic beer did decline by 5.8% compared to 2024, when it stood at over 7.2 billion liters. Additionally, the ratio of alcoholic to non-alcoholic beer decreased; in 2024, there were about 12.5 liters of alcoholic beer for every liter of non-alcoholic beer, whereas this dropped to 11.1 liters in 2025.
Meanwhile, the market for lower-alcohol mixed drinks, such as Radler, also saw a reduction in output. Production decreased from almost 364 million liters in 2024 to approximately 343 million liters in 2025, marking a decline of 5.7%.
