The next heatwave is advancing toward Germany. The German Weather Service has issued warnings for extreme heat this Wednesday, initially focusing on parts of all Western German states.
On Wednesday, specific regions are expected to experience high temperatures. Cologne and Stuttgart are forecast to reach up to 35 degrees Celsius. While Hamburg is anticipated to see about 32 degrees, the areas of the Middle and Upper Rhine, along with the Rhein-Main and Rhein-Neckar regions, face the highest potential heat, possibly reaching 38 degrees. Munich is likely to see temperatures approaching 33 degrees.
The East is not currently under official warning; temperatures there are “only” expected to reach around 30 degrees on Wednesday. However, the situation is set to deteriorate on Thursday, when these eastern regions are also projected to hit up to 37 degrees. Furthermore, the West is expected to be even hotter than it was on Wednesday.
Following this period of intense warmth, some parts of the country are predicted to see heavy showers and thunderstorms, which should provide some cooling relief.
