Deutsche Bank Boosts Q2 Profits by 11%, Reaching New Quarterly Peak and Outpacing Targets

Deutsche Bank reported a rise in its second-quarter profit to 2.7 billion euros. This represents an eleven percent increase compared to the same period last year, the largest German credit institution announced on Wednesday.

The bank achieved a net profit after taxes of 1.9 billion euros, marking a new record for a second quarter. This is a ten percent increase from the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Furthermore, the diluted earnings per share rose by 19 percent during the comparison period to 0.57 euros.

In the first six months of 2026, the bank posted a record profit after taxes of 4.1 billion euros, an increase of nine percent over the same period last year. Earnings before tax also rose by nine percent, reaching 5.7 billion euros.

Christian Sewing, the CEO of Deutsche Bank, commented, “We have further developed our global private banking, increased business volume, and financed additional value-creating investments through operational efficiency gains.” He added, “In addition, the rapid progress in the field of Artificial Intelligence is opening new possibilities for us to create additional value for our customers and achieve additional savings. Simultaneously, increasingly positive trends are emerging in our political and regulatory environment. Combined with our previous record results this year, these developments strengthen our confidence that we can exceed our goals for 2028.”
