Following the drone incident at Leipzig Airport, the Police Union (GdP) commended the coordination among the various authorities and highlighted the excellent technical equipment possessed by the Federal Police. According to Andreas Roßkopf, the GdP Head for the Federal Police, the incident demonstrated how effective the state-of-the-art equipment was and confirmed that the alarm systems functioned properly. He also noted that agencies such as Air Traffic Control, the State Police, and the Fire Department collaborated well with the Federal Police. Roßkopf stated that the Federal Police is currently well-equipped at German airports to observe drone flight patterns and initiate countermeasures. However, he added a crucial warning: he believes that potential attacks using drones cannot be prevented entirely.
