Dax Hits New Record: Investors Overlook Global Risks Amid Bull Market Surge

The DAX saw gains on Tuesday. At the close of trading on Xetra, the index settled at 26,391 points, representing a 0.3 percent increase compared to the previous day’s closing level, marking another record close. During the day, the DAX even reached a high of 26,504 points.

Among the biggest stock winners listed were Siemens Energy, Deutsche Telekom, and RWE. Conversely, Qiagen, Adidas, and Zalando were listed in the red.

Timo Emden, Chief Market Analyst at CapTrader, commented on the market sentiment, stating, “The DAX is moving within a tension between record excitement and a real-world test.” He added that investors currently perceive a fertile ground for new best records, despite simmering uncertainties regarding the Iran conflict, monetary policy, and AI valuations.

Market participants thus continued to balance between a crisis mode and a record-setting mood, seemingly leaning toward the latter. Emden observed that while geopolitical uncertainties continue to simmer beneath the surface, investors appear to be following their own rhythm. “The market looks surprisingly robust, yet the combination of geopolitical tensions and new highs remains contradictory for many market participants,” he noted.

In other economic news, the common European currency weakened somewhat on Tuesday afternoon. The Euro was trading at 1.1539 US Dollars, meaning the Dollar was exchanging for 0.8666 Euros.

Meanwhile, the price of gold slightly receded; at the afternoon trading session, a fine ounce was priced at 4,383 US Dollars (-0.1 percent), equaling 122.13 Euros per gram.

Conversely, the price of oil climbed. A barrel of North Sea Brent crude cost approximately 88.16 US Dollars around 5 PM German time on Tuesday, which was 44 cents, or 0.5 percent, more than the closing price of the previous trading day.
