Minister-President Sven Schulze of Saxony-Anhalt (CDU) has stated clearly that he will not enter into deals for a possible re-election following the upcoming state elections in early September. Speaking in Halle, Schulze reiterated that a core principle for him is never to become dependent on any other party. He elaborated that he refuses to enter into dependencies where political support is contingent upon him agreeing to specific demands.
Schulze emphasized his commitment to operating from the “center of the political landscape” while simultaneously asserting his intention to engage in dialogue with representatives across the entire political spectrum. However, he drew boundaries, specifying that he would not collaborate with extremists, or those positioned at the absolute far left or far right.
While Schulze did not explicitly rule out potential support from the Left Party for a possible re-election, he made it clear that his focus would be on implementing his ideas from the center, ensuring he maximizes their execution.
