According to a survey by the Insa Institute reported in the weekend edition of the “Bild-Zeitung,” the CDU currently maintains a slight lead in voter approval for the upcoming Berlin House of Representatives election. If the election were to take place this coming Sunday, the CDU would secure 20% of the votes cast-a two-point increase from the mid-July poll.
The Left Party follows in second place with 19%, managing to gain one percentage point. The Greens remain steady at 16%, while the SPD is projected to increase its support by two points, reaching 15%. Conversely, the AfD has lost two points, placing them at 17%.
Politically, a coalition government could potentially be formed by the Left Party in combination with the SPD and the Greens, as these three parties combined reach a total of 50% of the vote. Another possible majority could be achieved through an alliance between the CDU, the SPD, and the Greens, which totals 51%.
The survey conducted by Insa polled 1,000 individuals between August 7 and August 13, 2026.
