George Russell secured the victory in the Formula 1 Sprint race at the Circuit Park Zandvoort in the Netherlands. He defeated Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, and Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The race unfolded without major surprises, mainly because overtaking moves are traditionally difficult on this circuit.
Russell defended his pole position right from the start, leading the pack. Lando Norris followed closely, while Charles Leclerc and Oscar Piastri formed the main chasing group. Antonelli managed to overtake Piastri and move up to fourth place.
The tension remained low throughout the competitive portion of the race. Leclerc managed to pass Norris on lap 18, ensuring him the second position. Antonelli maintained his place behind Norris, choosing not to take unnecessary risks, as he seemed content with fourth place in the context of the World Championship battle.
Some drivers contended with technical issues during the event. Nico Hülkenberg was forced to end his race early but later rejoined for the race, still 13 laps down. Despite the tight pack at the front, there were few opportunities for further overtakes, meaning the race concluded without any major incidents.
