DAX Climbs Cautiously as US Monetary Policy Uncertainty Looms Over Markets Ahead of Jackson Hole Speech

The DAX continued its positive trajectory during Thursday’s trading, edging higher through midday. Around 1:00 PM, the leading index was calculated at approximately 26,348 points, representing a gain of 0.2 percent compared to the previous trading day. Top performers in the price list included Infineon, Rheinmetall, and Siemens Energy, while at the end of the list were Deutsche Telekom, Continental, and Henkel.

Timo Emden, Chief Market Analyst at CapTrader, noted that market participants are likely to remain cautious ahead of Kevin Warsh’s highly anticipated speech at the annual Jackson Hole meeting on Friday. He stated that uncertainty regarding how US monetary policy will evolve is currently acting as a brake on investor appetite for risk.

In currency markets, the Euro showed some weakness Thursday afternoon. One Euro exchanged for 1.1639 US dollars, meaning the dollar was trading at 0.8592 Euros.
