The political party Die Linke in Saxony-Anhalt has officially rejected an invitation from the AfD for exploratory talks. In a statement released on Wednesday, the regional chairpersons, Janina Böttger and Hendrik Lange, explained that the Linke sees no basis for dialogue with a party that systematically excludes people based on their origin, perceived affiliation, or convictions. The Linke leaders stated that the AfD seeks to “normalize positions that questioned the equality of all people,” calling this an “unbridgeable difference” between the two political entities. This rejection comes after the AfD Sachsen-Anhalt had invited all parliamentary groups in the state to participate in such initial discussions following the state election.
