The extensive corridor renovations being undertaken by Deutsche Bahn are likely to take significantly longer than originally planned. According to Evelyn Palla, head of the railway, the concept for these corridor upgrades is currently being revised. Specifically, the number of renovations planned for each year is intended to be reduced. Coordination with the Federal Ministry of Transport is ongoing, aimed at finalizing the changes soon. A precise timeframe for the new renovation concept has not yet been announced. Initially, the projects were scheduled to be finished early next decade. However, the pace had already been slowed previously, pushing the completion date back to the mid-2030s.
