Following the state election in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, AfD leader Alice Weidel asserted that her party holds a “mandate for a government,” stating on election night that voters had given the party a “clear mandate” for a governing position. She added that discussions would begin, and they would collaborate with anyone representing the AfD’s platform. However, she noted that all other parties categorically exclude cooperation, with the exception of the BSW.
According to recent projections from ARD and ZDF, the SPD is averaging 35.8 percent, positioning itself slightly behind the AfD, which registered 37.6 percent. The Left party follows with a substantial margin at 7.0 percent, ahead of the Greens, who received 5.5 percent. The CDU (5.3 percent) and the BSW (4.9 percent) are struggling to gain traction. The FDP managed to achieve only 1.1 percent, while the remainder of the vote accounts for 3.0 percent.
