Extremist left-wing activists have claimed responsibility for an attack targeting a CDU office in Offenbach am Main over the weekend. A manifesto detailing the attack was anonymously published on the internet platform “Indymedia.” This document also announced further acts of violence against the “Party of Friedrich Merz,” stating that the “few stones” used at the CDU office were merely “the beginning.”
The Hessian Ministry of the Interior confirmed to “Focus Online” that the security authorities possess the suspected manifesto, which is now part of the ongoing investigation. The State Protection Department of the Southeast Hesse Police Headquarters is working intensively to clarify the case.
The unknown perpetrators attacked the local office of the CDU and the associated Bundestag district office of MP Björn Simon overnight on Monday. The assailants threw stones, resulting in the destruction of six large panes of glass. The property damage is estimated at approximately 6,000 euros. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, as the office was unoccupied at the time of the incident. Police told “Focus Online” that the attack was carried out by several people dressed in dark clothing who subsequently fled the scene.
