The DAX saw a decline on Thursday, closing at 25,267 points on the Xetra market, which marked a loss of 0.6 percent compared to the previous day’s close.
In divergence from the overall trend, Beiersdorf shares led the positive movements, gaining strongly by around three percent just before trading concluded. Following these gains were the stocks of Hannover Rück and Münchener Rück. Conversely, several companies experienced significant losses of three percent or more, including Infineon, Rheinmetall, and Scout24.
Andreas Lipkow, Chief Market Analyst at CMC Markets, commented on the situation, stating that the stock market currently needed less growth and far less pressure from the oil and bond markets.
The European currency performed slightly weaker by Thursday evening. One Euro traded at $1.1373 US Dollars, meaning the Dollar was priced at 0.8793 Euros.
Gold prices also weakened, with a fine ounce selling for $4,254 US Dollars in the evening, representing a decline of 0.8 percent. This translates to a price of 120.26 Euros per gram. In contrast, oil prices saw a sharp increase; a barrel of North Sea Brent crude cost $107.80 US Dollars around 6 PM German time on Thursday, an increase of 4.5 percent from the close of the previous trading day.
