George Russell clinched the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the Baku City Circuit, edging out a thrilling Max Verstappen to take the win on Saturday. Russell defeated the Red Bull driver by a slim margin of just 0.196 seconds, while Verstappen finished second.
Isack Hadjar completed the podium, trailing the winner by 10.704 seconds. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc narrowly missed onto the podium, settling in fourth place. He was followed by Kimi Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton. In the wider field, Arvid Lindblad secured seventh place, with Esteban Ocon, Oliver Bearman, and Carlos Sainz rounding out the top ten. Nico Hülkenberg came close but finished eleventh, missing out on points.
The race began with a dominant start from George Russell, who successfully defended his pole position. Although Charles Leclerc initially lost ground to Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, Russell quickly established a strong pace at the front. Behind him, a compelling battle for the podium spots developed. Kimi Antonelli, who had started from further back, demonstrated an impressive comeback drive, fighting his way up to fifth place. Nico Hülkenberg also benefited from the disruptions, managing to move closer to the points-scoring positions.
Towards the end of the race, Valtteri Bottas caused a moment of panic when he ran into the barriers in Turn 15. Fortunately, the driver remained uninjured, and the race continued without further interruptions.
