CDU Member of the Bundestag David Preisendanz has demanded stronger leadership within the CDU-led government. Speaking to the “Tagesspiegel” (Thursday edition), Preisendanz stated, “We urgently need leadership right now.” He insisted that capable leaders are necessary on both sides who truly understand the current challenges facing the country.
Commenting on the polling figures for the coalition parties, Preisendanz suggested that anyone who believes the situation could possibly get worse lacks imagination. The CDU politician cautioned against a failure of the government. He argued that a breach within the coalition would not make reforms more likely. He added that the present moment would reveal who genuinely wants to defend the political center-a defense that, he observed, has so far amounted to mere empty slogans.
Regarding the recent successes of the AfD, Preisendanz remarked that the current situation perfectly fulfills the AfD’s strategic plan. The fact that this is apparently not being recognized makes him increasingly astonished.
