Fuel prices across Germany have recently decreased, offering motorists a small but noticeable reprieve at the pump.
According to a recent analysis by the ADAC, the average price for a liter of Super E10 gasoline reached €1.669 on Tuesday, a reduction of 1.8 cents compared to the previous week. Diesel prices also saw a decline, falling by 1.1 cents to €1.617 per liter.
While acknowledging the price reductions, the ADAC expressed concern that the decline in diesel prices hadn’t been as substantial as anticipated, particularly given the recent adjustments to mineral oil tax rates affecting diesel.
Currently, the price difference between Super E10 and diesel stands at a comparatively low 5.2 cents per liter, a figure considered unusual for the summer months. The reductions in both fuel types are attributable to a slight decrease in the price of crude oil. A barrel of Brent crude was last trading around $69 US, down from $70 the week prior.
