A serious traffic accident on the L3073 state road, between Frankenberg/Eder and Somplar, has resulted in the deaths of two individuals. This was confirmed by the North Hesse Police Headquarters on Saturday.
The collision, a head-on impact, occurred on Friday afternoon within a lengthy, curved section of the road.
Initial police investigations indicate that both vehicles were propelled down an embankment due to the force of the impact. The first vehicle contained two occupants who were trapped within the wreckage and tragically died at the scene. The second vehicle carried four individuals; three sustained minor injuries while one was seriously injured.
The L3073 was fully closed to traffic for the duration of the accident investigation and recovery operations. The precise cause of the accident remains under investigation.
