According to the current “Political Barometer” conducted by ZDF, the AfD remains clearly in the lead in voter favor. If a federal election were to take place next Sunday, the research by Forschungsgruppe Wahlen suggests the AfD would reach 28 percent-a gain of one percentage point over the previous survey.
The gap between the AfD and the Union (CDU and CSU) is widening, as the coalition parties lost one point and now stand at 21 percent. In contrast, the SPD was able to gain one percentage point in the poll, bringing their support up to 13 percent.
For the Greens and the Left Party, their percentages remained unchanged, holding steady at 14 percent and 12 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, the FDP dropped one point to register at 3 percent. The rest of the parties collectively held stable, maintaining a 9 percent standing.
