According to Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär (CSU), the current state of the federal government is “extremely stable.” Speaking on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting in Neuhardenberg, Bär told the broadcaster Phoenix that the internal atmosphere among colleagues is positive and emphasized their “unconditional desire to achieve things together.” She noted that the respective departments are closely interconnected, adding, “I know that it often appears different from the outside, but for me, this government is extremely stable.”
At the meeting, the challenging geopolitical situation was a primary subject of discussion, particularly how Germany should strengthen cooperation with various countries. Bär stated the goal is “to focus even more on what the country needs to be able to prioritize these partnerships of shared values more strongly, even during these challenging times.” She concluded that politics requires “the highest degree of flexibility” in order to respond effectively to crises.
