Berlin Left Youth Group Condemns Israel in Resolution

The Berlin regional association of the Left Youth Solid has reportedly adopted a resolution at its recent state assembly, titled “Never Again to Remain Silent on Genocide”. The document, as reported by “Welt”, expresses regret over the organization’s perceived inaction in addressing what it describes as the nature of the Israeli state project.

The resolution states that the association “failed” to recognize the colonial and racist elements inherent in the Israeli state’s development, specifically pointing to the ongoing occupation of territory and displacement of residents. It further argues for explicitly labeling actions by the Israeli state, ranging from systemic discrimination to the ongoing situation in Gaza, as actions constituting genocide.

The resolution calls for the liberation of Palestine, framing it as part of a broader democratic and socialist revolution aimed at dismantling perceived imperialist influence in the region. It makes no direct mention of Hamas, the governing body in Gaza, instead referring to “Palestinian and global resistance against colonialism, apartheid and genocide”. The document emphasizes a wider scope of systemic issues rather than focusing on specific actors.
