Gunfire was reported again on Friday evening in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, specifically within the Graefekiez area, prompting the police to deploy a large response force. This is not the first time incidents of this nature have occurred recently in the vicinity.
Earlier this year, a serious incident took place in March when two men fired shots at a 23-year-old man and his companion on Graefestraße. The 23-year-old was severely wounded before the perpetrators fled the scene. Following a related series of events in the neighborhood, the state police’s 7th Murder Commission took over the investigation in May.
The May period saw several related events: first, an unknown individual fired at a car while riding a scooter in the same district. Shortly afterward, further shots were fired in the area of Urbanstraße, heading toward Hermannplatz, as well as in front of a local establishment in Reinickendorf.
